Wargames Factory Shock Troopers

Hi Guys,

After picking up some of Wargames Factory's Greatcoat Shock trooper boxed sets at Quartermaster IV last year I decided to pull my finger out and paint some up.

Just some small conversions:  Pig Iron Heads.

Followed by some speed painting, Army Painter Strong Tone Quick Shade and Army painter Matt Varnish Spray.

Lastly some Silfor Tufts to make the base less boring :P

I also have some 28 mm WW2 models on order along with some skirmish rules sets.  More about that when it gets here.

Happy gaming,

Allan

Hi Paul,

No we have two boys, Seven and Four years old and decided to stop there (although we would love more).

lol on the shading on the shock troopers. It's very quick and good enough for the gaming table. I usually spend far too long painting rank and file models rather than getting them on the table.

The pooling can be cleaned up with a cotton bud or paint brush dipped in turps. This can be done after the quick shade dries as well.

The Kingdom of Britannia Cruiser is just shy of 7 cm long and 3 cm wide. The detail is very nice. It will look nicer again once the turrets are painted up and placed on the model.

Happy Gaming :)

Only 7cm long and 3cm wide!!! Incredible painting ..it really looks a lot bigger.
I still think the shading looks good.

Did it take much conversion work to make the pig iron heads fit?

I was thinking about putting Pig Iron's "heavy infantry" heads on those bodies, but the HI heads look wider than the gas mask ones.

Hi Joseph,

No the heads fit on very easily.

Because the heads are pewter and the bodies plastic I did pin the heads to the bodies but it did not take much effort.

I have not seen the Heavy Infantry Heads before. I think all Pig iron Heads are designed to go onto the Pig Iron bodies and also fit Games Workshop's Cadian torsos.

It was a fun and very simple conversion to do though. I had considered using Cadian Arms on the Torsos so they would be holding Laser Rifles.

Hope this helps :)

Happy Gaming,
